Proptech industry connects for ideas exchange

Proptech founders and teams from across Australia will gather together in Sydney to collaborate on the future of the industry at the Proptech Forum 2023.

Sponsored by Proptech Association founding partner Ashurst and gold sponsor Domain, the Proptech Forum on October 19 is being hosted by The Proptech Association Australia to support a dialogue and ideas exchange across the rapidly growing proptech industry.

"The real estate industry is full of conferences where proptechs spend their time on the sidelines in the trade halls or on specialist panels talking about innovation in real estate and property as if it is something unusual," Proptech Association President Kylie Davis said.

"But the Proptech Forum places the experiences and education of proptech founders and their teams at the centre of the conversation and looks at what we need to do to build more effective technology and more successful businesses."

This year's theme, Growing Better Together, will explore issues including: big data, AI, scale-up challenges and financing - making your Proptech attractive to investors and saleable.

Speakers include Red Balloon entrepreneur and former Shark Tank investor Naomi Simson, Dr Ben Coorey from Archistar, Jessica Christiansen-Franks from Neighbourlytics, Sarah Bell from CoreLogic and the new NSW Rental Services Commissioner, Trina Jones.

Roundtable discussions will include topics such as the need for quality standards for industry APIs, solving the challenges of big data and AI, the new wave of residential energy efficiency, new solutions in commercial property and the challenges of the emerging proptech construction sector.

Kylie said that in a year that had featured a difficult property market, rising interest rates and a tight funding environment, many proptechs had found it tough going. "This is another important aspect of the Proptech Forum - which offers everyone in the proptech industry a chance to get together again for meaningful conversations and peer moral support!" she said.

"The vision of the Proptech Association is to create a community of proptech founders who can share experiences and support each other. That's important - not just for our tech - but also for our mental health.

"Every Proptech founder or team member - and anyone curious about the industry - is invited to join us for a day of big ideas, learning and conversations. This is the tribe that gets your vibe."

The Proptech Forum is proudly sponsored by Proptech industry founding partner Ashurst and gold sponsor Domain.

Roundtables are being hosted by Domain, CoreLogic, Dynamic Methods, Data Army and PTBlink with more to be announced shortly.

Networking drinks will be held at the end of the day.
